I knew what bound me to it in the most sickening of ways, but the horror of that particular knowledge came later, much later. I think we could have all lived happily, in a way, God, me, and the others, if it weren’t for that accursed book. God knew how to show his gentle side, too, and I loved him as I’ve loved no one else. ![]() God could be so cruel in his indifference, he horrified me. ![]() ![]() Wildlings are feared temptresses cursed to kill anyone they fall in love with, and survive only on human hearts. Each ruler from six realms must come together and fight to fulfill a prophecy and break their realm’s curse. As the ruler of Wildling, it is her duty to save her dying realm from its curse by participating in the Centennial, a game that takes place every 100 years on a magical island called Lightlark.Įxcept, this game is no ordinary game. However, I definitely enjoyed it, and I can’t wait for the sequel to come out! I understand why some people might not like this book. And isn’t that why we read? To enjoy a book so much we find ourselves separated from something when we pull away? I felt like I was in there with the characters experiencing the story by their side.
